I believe that architecture is the way to materialize human creativity to conceive spatial solutions. These spaces are the places where the human activities are staged.

Pingu Villa

Location: Beijing

Scale: 9,687 sqf - 900 sqm

Time: Design completion 2011.

Status: Schematic Design

Nestled in the mountains, this secluded house offers breathtaking views of the Pinggu valley. The client requested a flexible design that could accommodate families of various sizes, as well as serve as a gathering place for friends.

To meet these needs, we created a layout featuring multiple habitational blocks, two stories high, that can be accessed from either the inside or outside of the house. These blocks surround two main social areas: a cozy living room and kitchen on the first floor, and a terrace for BBQs on the second floor.

We also incorporated a half-level underground play area that connects directly to the natural surroundings. Parking is conveniently tucked away behind the house, allowing residents and guests to fully appreciate the stunning valley view. All in all, this is the perfect retreat for a family or group of friends to relax and unwind in nature."
